Reine-Claude Home

The Danish owners of this stunning beachfront home worked alongside Min Hall of Arthouse Architecture to design their “Kiwi” home away from home. While they remained in Denmark, Frank and his team were able to create Reine-Claude to their and Min's specifications and it was ready and waiting for their arrival and enjoyment! Surrounded by regenerating bush in a private location overlooking the beach, Reine-Claude has a hint of the Scandinavian “look” with the use of beech timber overlay flooring in the living areas. The plastered feature fireplace that surrounds the closed wood burner between the lounge area and kitchen⁄dining, is designed to radiate heat outwards and retain warmth for the rest of the home.

The lounge has a sicillian roof ceiling with wooden trusses and stainless steel fixings creating a strong feature to this large open plan area. The master bedroom opens out onto continuous decking overlooking the beach and captures the first rays of the morning sun. The master ensuite is tiled and has welcoming under-floor heating. Upstairs are two guest bedrooms and ensuites, a small library⁄reading area, and a separate storage space. The utility rooms are also tiled for easy maintenance, which leads through to the internal garaging and further storage space. The exterior is clad in linea, which has proved to be excellent in this marine environment where the salt-laden sea breeze can easily cause maintenance problems within a short time.
